The mandate

Build, maintain, inspect, and repair the robot fleet so engineers and field operators can run useful tests and harvest shifts. Make physical configuration and service history accurate enough that failures can be reproduced and fixed.

First-year outcomes

Evidence the role is working.

  1. 01

Repeatable robot builds with complete inspection and configuration records.

  2. 02

A controlled tool, spare, battery, and consumables system for field deployments.

  3. 03

Fast, safe diagnosis and repair using approved procedures and escalation paths.

  4. 04

Clear build and service feedback that removes recurring assembly and access problems.

What you will own

  • Assemble mechanical systems, harnesses, electronics, sensors, and compute hardware.
  • Perform inspection, calibration, firmware loading, functional tests, and preflight checks.
  • Maintain batteries, chargers, tools, vehicles, spares, and field kits.
  • Diagnose failures, replace components, document work, and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Support transport, setup, cleaning, recovery, and closeout during field deployments.
  • Improve work instructions and fixtures with engineering and manufacturing owners.

What we are looking for

  • Builds clean, repeatable assemblies from drawings, work instructions, and engineering intent.
  • Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, networking, and sensor issues methodically.
  • Documents deviations and does not hide rework or substitute parts without review.
  • Keeps tools, spares, batteries, and build records ready for the next field day.
  • Works safely and communicates clearly around operators and moving equipment.

The field reality

The environment is part of the design.

The work moves between shop, vehicle, and field. It includes assembly, wiring, inspection, charging, cleaning, transport, rapid component swaps, and detailed records—often on the same day.

Useful, not required in every candidate
  • Robotics, automotive, aviation, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or equipment service.
  • Mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, crimping, network setup, and diagnostic tools.
  • Safe trailer, battery, lifting, and field-equipment practices.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication.
